The new scroll driven chiller provided with an inverter for continuous load adjusting has been analyzed in order to investigate effective efficiency curves in all of the interesting working conditions, both at full and partial loads. Many analytical and experimental models propose efficiency calculation methods that sometimes result hard to be applied in the design process. So, a new simplified design method has been proposed, based on a global efficiency decrease range field, to reach optimal energy savings and to catch proper information about real chiller performance.
